Some large manufacturers of office equipment have agreements to use each other's developments in production. This is how Xerox and Samsung, Canon and Hewlett Packard cooperate.

The mechanical parts of printers from one or another pair of manufacturers remain unchanged, but differ in electronics or firmware.

Such cooperation between manufacturers allows us to talk about the interchangeability of cartridges for Canon and Hewlett Packard, Xerox and Samsung printers.
